Author · Bridge Enthusiast
Pratap K. Srivastava has spent more than six decades at the bridge table. What began as a curiosity in his student years has become a lifelong passion — a game he returns to again and again for its endless variety, its demands on memory and logic, and the friendships it has built along the way.
He earned his undergraduate degree at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and later completed an Executive MBA at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. His professional career took him through IBM, where he served in a number of executive roles before retiring. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor, teaching the next generation of technology and business leaders.
Today, Pratap plays regularly at his community club in Virginia, where he continues to learn from partners and opponents alike. Two of his grandchildren compete in collegiate bridge tournaments — a source of enormous pride, and one of the reasons he felt called to write.
He wrote A Bridge Guide for Beginners and Intermediate Players for the players he meets every week: smart, curious people who know the basics but want a clear path to the next level. The book is the first of three planned volumes from Srivastava Bridge Press, each written in the same spirit — patient, structured, and grounded in real hands at real tables.
